Making cleanliness a habit, Minister AK Sharma leads charge

Lucknow: Urban Development and Energy Minister of Uttar Pradesh, AK Sharma reached district Jaunpur and on the auspicious occasion of the birthday of the  Prime Minister  started the Swachhata Abhiyan organized in Shahganj behind Laxmi Narayan Vatika Kotwali under Swachhata Seva Pakhwada and administered the oath of cleanliness to the people present and encouraged them to join this campaign.

This campaign will be run in all the bodies of the state on the theme ‘Swabhaav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata’ under Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 from 17 September to 02 October. On the occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, a 155-hour non-stop cleaning campaign will be run from 26 September to 02 October.

On the completion of 10 years of the Prime Minister’s Swachh Bharat Mission, a cleanliness program is being organized with public participation in cleanliness, total cleanliness and Safai Mitra Suraksha.

The Urban Development Minister said on this occasion that the message of cleanliness in the country was given by Mahatma Gandhi and it was implemented by Prime Minister Modi. To fulfill the Prime Minister’s resolve of a clean India, the cleanliness program has to be run with full dedication, honesty and devotion.

We have to pay special attention to the cleanliness of our homes as well as the surrounding areas. The cleaners start cleaning work from 5 am. At this time, people should take out wet and dry garbage from their homes separately. Everyone should fulfill their responsibility towards cleanliness. Only then can we take the country forward by being healthy and having a clean environment.

On the occasion of Swachhata Seva Pakhwada, Urban Development Minister  AK Sharma himself cleaned the black spot marked next to Hanumangarhi in Shahganj Municipal Council by taking a broom in his hand and picking up the garbage and encouraged people to clean. He inaugurated the Plugran by showing green flag to give the message of cleanliness.

On the occasion of the birthday of the Prime Minister, a huge blood donation camp was inaugurated by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha at Anita Blood Bank and Laparoscopic Center and all the people were motivated to voluntarily donate blood in the camp and participate in the service of the country and the people.

Minister Sharma said that for the last two years, many campaigns have been run for cleanliness and hygiene in the bodies. Still, wherever there are black spots left, identify them and make them clean and beautify such places. Parks, gardens, sitting places for the elderly, children’s parks, open gyms, vending zones, Miyawaki etc. should be made there, so that it does not become dirty again.

He said that two municipal corporations, 05 municipalities and 10 Nagar Panchayats of the state doing excellent work in cleanliness will be honored. All the body officials will pay special attention to cleanliness in their areas and will regularly monitor the cleaning work. So that legacy waste is not seen anywhere during the upcoming festivals.

For environmental protection, impose a complete ban on the use of single-use plastic. Take the help of business organizations and eminent citizens for beautification work in the bodies. Make your cities clean with public participation and cooperation of the people. He said that there should not be waterlogging anywhere. Spray medicines to prevent communicable diseases, fly and mosquito-borne diseases.
