Lucknow: A review meeting was organized with the departmental officers regarding the departmental action plan and DPR/estimates under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Public Works Department Ajay Chauhan in the assembly hall located in the new building of the Legislative Assembly.
Departmental Secretary, Special Secretary, Chief Engineer Development and Head of Department, Chief Engineer Rural Road, Managing Director Bridge Corporation, Chief Engineer (Headquarters One) and other related departmental officers were present in the review meeting.
In the review meeting, the Principal Secretary Public Works Department inquired from the departmental officers about the current status of the proposed departmental action plan regarding the roads/bridges falling under various categories in the state and directed to expedite it and send the estimates on time.
He directed that the estimates of the remaining works should be sent to the government by the end of this week in any case.
Giving strict instructions regarding the financial and physical progress of the ongoing works, he said that the works under construction should be expedited further and completed within the stipulated time frame.
In the review meeting, the Principal Secretary Public Works Department, while taking information from the departmental officers regarding the state highways in the state, directed to make a list of how many state highways are not yet two lanes and they should also be widened as soon as possible.
The Principal Secretary took information regarding how many of the identified roads of the state have been widened to two lanes or more under the Interstate Connectivity Scheme, along with this he directed to provide information related to how many roads are not two lanes.
Regarding the entry gates on the interstate / international border, he directed that it should be tested whether any more entry gates are left to be built on the interstate / international border, if so, then a list of them should also be prepared.
He directed that the places in the state where there are still wooden / temporary bridges should be identified on priority basis and included in the action plan.
While reviewing the widening and strengthening work under construction at Arjunganj on Sultanpur Road, Ajay Chauhan directed the Chief Engineer (Central Zone) to expedite the construction work and complete it as soon as possible. Negligence in the road under construction will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If negligence is found, departmental action will be taken against the concerned officer and the contractor should also be blacklisted.
