New Delhi: The 15th meeting of the Defence Information Technology Consultative Committee (DITCC) was chaired by Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth in the national capital. The meeting was organised by Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) and brought together senior defence officials, policy experts, and representatives from academia and industry.
The discussions focused on strengthening Aatmanirbhar Bharat in the field of defence information technology and accelerating the adoption of next-generation digital and strategic technologies in a time-bound manner. Emphasis was placed on integrating cutting-edge innovations into the armed forces to keep pace with the evolving nature of modern warfare.
Experts and stakeholders deliberated on several key areas, including indigenous development of advanced semiconductor chips, creation of sovereign operating systems and secure databases, and strategic establishment of data centres to meet defence requirements. The committee also reviewed and approved select projects expected to enhance both operational capabilities of the armed forces and the broader national technology ecosystem.

Officials from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force participated in the meeting, along with representatives from the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Experts from academia and the private sector also contributed to the discussions, highlighting collaborative approaches to defence innovation.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to advancing India’s defence technology infrastructure in alignment with the vision of a self-reliant and technologically empowered nation.
