Lucknow: Celebrating the universal language of music on World Music Day, Sur Sandhya Music Club commemorated one successful year as an open platform for music enthusiasts with its seventh musical presentation held at the Urdu Academy, Lucknow.
Founded by Sanjay Deshmankar and co-founded by Ravindra Joshi, the club has steadily evolved into a vibrant cultural forum. Its growth received further momentum with the association of Prajyot Dewaskar, a graded artist of All India Radio, Mumbai, who helped strengthen the club’s artistic vision and structure.
Although Sur Sandhya was initially established in 2015 to serve Lucknow’s Maharashtrian community, it took a significant step forward on World Music Day in 2025 when it was opened to the wider public. Since then, the club has successfully organized seven musical events, bringing together performers and audiences from diverse backgrounds.
Dedicated to nurturing talent and encouraging musical expression, the club offers a welcoming stage for solo, duet, and group singing performances, as well as instrumental presentations featuring instruments such as the mouth organ and violin. One of the highlights of the anniversary celebration was a captivating mouth organ recital by founder Sanjay Deshmankar, which was warmly appreciated by the audience.
Beyond entertainment, Sur Sandhya Music Club has emerged as a community-driven initiative that encourages people to reconnect with their artistic passions, develop meaningful social connections, and experience the emotional and mental benefits of music. By creating an inclusive environment for performers of all ages and skill levels, the club continues to promote creativity, cultural engagement, and personal well-being.
As it enters its second year as a public platform, Sur Sandhya Music Club remains committed to fostering musical talent and enriching Lucknow’s cultural landscape through the power of music.
