During the meeting, the Superintendent of Police reviewed long-pending criminal investigations and sought detailed explanations for delays. He instructed officers to resolve all pending cases promptly based on merit and evidence while maintaining high standards of investigation.
Special emphasis was placed on unresolved criminal cases, absconding accused, reward-carrying offenders and individuals facing externment proceedings. Progress under the Gangsters Act was also reviewed, including property attachment proceedings under Section 14(1), the opening of history sheets, action under the Goonda Act and gang registrations. Officers were directed to identify habitual criminals and intensify legal action through effective gang registration and prosecution.
Reviewing cases under Operation Conviction, SP Jaiswal instructed officers to identify additional suitable cases for inclusion in the campaign to secure speedy convictions. He also reviewed vehicle theft and burglary hotspots and directed officials to strengthen night patrolling, establish checkpoints at major intersections, sensitive locations and district borders, and intensify checking of suspicious persons, vehicles and articles.
The Superintendent of Police stressed that every complainant visiting police stations or offices must be treated with sensitivity and respect, ensuring prompt, fair and quality disposal of grievances.
Highlighting provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), he directed officers to invoke Section 107 against criminals who have acquired illegal assets through criminal activities. He instructed police to identify such offenders, obtain necessary approvals from competent authorities, move applications before the magistrate and carry out attachment or seizure of properties in accordance with court orders. He said such action would help curb illegal financial networks, weaken organised crime and strengthen justice for victims.

SP Jaiswal also instructed beat constables to regularly update the Yaksh App’s online beat book with information on local activities, suspicious individuals and public issues to make policing more digital, transparent and efficient.
Reviewing the statewide CY-VAZRA cybercrime campaign launched by the Director General of Police, he said 11 cases have been registered in Gonda district so far, with 26 accused arrested and sent to jail.
