Lucknow: With just two days left for the start of the Uttar Pradesh T20 League Season 4, preparations at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium are in full swing. On Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s Advisor Avanish Awasthi visited the stadium to review security arrangements and other facilities ahead of the tournament, which begins on August 14.
Awasthi inspected the arrangements along with UP T20 League Governing Council Chairman Dr Sanjay Kapoor and Ekana Sportz City CMD Uday Sinha. Particular attention was given to spectator facilities, seating arrangements, player safety and emergency exit routes.
Awasthi directed officials to ensure that there was no lapse in arrangements, stressing that the UP T20 League has emerged as one of the state’s major sporting events. Dr Kapoor assured the visiting officials that comprehensive arrangements had been made for the safety and convenience of spectators and participating teams.
Meanwhile, the special trophy tour organised to promote Season 4 concluded on Wednesday. At Mount Fort School in Mahanagar, Kashi Rudras player Shubham Chaubey interacted with students and spoke about his cricketing journey. At Ramswaroop University on Ayodhya Road, Meerut Mavericks IPL stars Kartik Tyagi and Swastik Chikara shared their experiences with young cricket enthusiasts.
The first phase of the UP T20 League will be played at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow from August 14 to 26, featuring 22 matches. The tournament will then move to Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, where 12 matches, including the playoffs and final, will be played from August 28 to September 6.
