Bandhan Bank Launches ‘Cyber Cop’ CSR Campaign to Boost Cyber Fraud Awareness

Mumbai: Bandhan Bank has launched ‘Cyber Cop’, a nationwide cyber awareness campaign under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aimed at promoting safe digital practices and equipping citizens to protect themselves against the growing threat of cyber fraud.

To amplify the campaign’s reach, acclaimed filmmaker Rohit Shetty has joined the initiative, leveraging the popularity of his iconic “cop universe” to deliver cyber safety messages to a wider audience. The campaign seeks to make cyber security awareness more accessible and encourage responsible digital behaviour across the country.

The initiative comes at a time when cybercrime continues to rise in India. According to government data, financial losses reported through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal reached nearly ₹22,495 crore in 2025, with more than 2.4 million complaints registered during the year.

At the heart of the campaign is a simple yet impactful message: “Stop, Verify, Report.” Through awareness films, public outreach and educational content, Cyber Cop encourages citizens to pause before acting on suspicious requests, verify information before placing trust in digital communications and promptly report cybercrime incidents through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or by calling the 1930 cybercrime helpline.

By associating with the campaign, Rohit Shetty aims to reinforce the message that cyber threats are no longer confined to the virtual world but have become a part of everyday digital life. His association is expected to help the campaign connect with audiences across age groups and regions.

A Bandhan Bank spokesperson said cyber fraud remains one of the most significant challenges facing India’s rapidly expanding digital ecosystem. Through Cyber Cop, the bank hopes to create greater awareness so that people develop the habit of pausing before taking action, verifying information before trusting it and reporting suspicious activity without delay.

The bank said the initiative is designed to complement broader efforts to improve digital safety and empower people to make informed decisions while using digital financial services.

Cyber Cop is a CSR initiative of Bandhan Bank, presented by Hindustan Times and implemented by Adent Social Welfare Organisation. The campaign focuses on increasing cyber awareness, promoting safe online practices and encouraging the timely reporting of cyber fraud, contributing to a safer and more secure digital environment for citizens.
