Bareilly: An awareness programme was organized at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University to mark the completion of 12 years of the Central Government. The event aimed to inform students about various welfare initiatives and educational opportunities being offered by the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments.
Addressing the gathering, Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey highlighted a range of government programmes focused on education, healthcare, skill development, women’s empowerment, digital services, and social security. She said that several initiatives have been launched to make higher education more accessible, affordable, and employment-oriented for students across the country.
Dr. Pandey explained that under the Prime Minister’s Higher Education Campaign (PM-USHA), efforts are being made to strengthen infrastructure, research, and innovation in universities and colleges. She also emphasized the role of central and state scholarship schemes in providing financial assistance to meritorious and economically disadvantaged students, including those from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, minority communities, persons with disabilities, and economically weaker sections.
Students were informed about education loan interest subsidy schemes and the National Overseas Scholarship programme, which supports higher studies abroad. The programme also highlighted several initiatives of the Uttar Pradesh government aimed at expanding access to quality higher education and improving career prospects for young people.
Among the key schemes discussed was the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, under which eligible students receive free tablets and smartphones to support digital learning and preparation for competitive examinations. Participants were also briefed on the Uttar Pradesh Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Scheme, which assists students in pursuing higher education.
The event further showcased the benefits of the Chief Minister Abhyudaya Yojana, which provides free coaching for competitive examinations such as UPSC, UPPSC, JEE, NEET, NDA, and CDS. Speakers noted that government initiatives promoting research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development are creating new opportunities for students and young professionals.

The programme also highlighted the growing emphasis on digital and smart education through the development of smart classrooms, e-learning platforms, digital libraries, and improved internet connectivity in higher educational institutions. Officials stated that these efforts are aimed at making education more technology-driven, inclusive, and aligned with industry requirements.
In addition to student-focused initiatives, participants were informed about several public welfare schemes benefiting different sections of society, including the Atal Pension Yojana, PM Surya Ghar Yojana, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, PM SVANidhi Scheme, Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Bal Vikas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Gramodyog Rozgar Yojana, and Kanya Sumangala Yojana.
Students were encouraged to take full advantage of these schemes and contribute actively to nation-building through education, innovation, and social responsibility.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students, including Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, Dr. Atul Katiyar, and a large number of students from various departments of the university.
