Bareilly: A five-day workshop for teachers on “Inclusive Pedagogies for Teachers and Preparation of Case Studies of Students with Differing Abilities” began at Disha School, operated under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly.
The workshop aims to familiarise teachers with inclusive teaching practices and train them to understand the educational needs of students with differing abilities and prepare individual case studies to support their learning and development.
The programme is being organised under the guidance and direction of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anil Rai, who conveyed his best wishes to the participating teachers, organisers and students of Disha School for the successful conduct of the workshop.
Workshop Coordinator Prof. (Dr.) Yash Pal Singh said inclusive education was not merely an educational arrangement but a vision that seeks to provide every student with equal opportunities, dignity and the right to learn according to their abilities. He emphasised that teachers have a crucial role in understanding the individual needs and abilities of every child and developing appropriate teaching strategies.
He said the workshop would focus on connecting teachers with the practical aspects of inclusive education and using case studies to gain a better understanding of students’ individual requirements.
Disha School Manager Pushpa Lata said the institution aims to provide students with differing abilities a sensitive, safe and supportive environment. She said such workshops provide teachers with new perspectives and practical strategies to help every child progress according to their abilities.
Resource Person Dr. Rashmi Ranjan said inclusive education can be effective only when teachers understand the diverse abilities and needs of students and meaningfully integrate them into the regular classroom process. She explained that case studies help teachers systematically understand a child’s individual needs, challenges, strengths and progress. She urged teachers to adopt a sensitive and child-centred approach.
During the workshop, teachers will receive practical inputs on the concept of inclusive education, the needs of students with differing abilities, effective inclusive teaching strategies, assistive resources and preparation of student case studies. Training will also cover identifying individual needs and applying suitable teaching-learning strategies in classrooms.
Disha School Secretary Rajni Agrawal, Principal Rahat Hussain, Prof. Anju Agrawal, Dr. Rashmi Ranjan, Kapil Mohan, Meenu Singh and other teachers and members associated with the university and school attended the programme.
The five-day workshop places particular emphasis on strengthening teachers’ capacities and developing more sensitive, equitable and inclusive educational environments. Organisers said participants would gain practical experience in applying inclusive teaching strategies and preparing case studies of students with differing abilities.
