Bareilly: Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Prof. Anil Kumar Rai, conducted a special inspection of the University Student Support Centre (USSC) and reviewed the functioning of various student-focused offices located there.
During his visit, the Vice-Chancellor inspected the offices of the Dean of Student Welfare (DSW), Chief Proctor and National Service Scheme (NSS). He also held a meeting with members of the DSW Board and other faculty members to discuss issues related to student welfare and campus facilities.
Rai said students were the primary stakeholders of the university and that all administrative efforts should remain focused on their welfare. He directed officials to accord the highest priority to student grievances and ensure their prompt and effective resolution.
The Vice-Chancellor directed the university to make library and computer facilities available round the clock. He also called for the single-window system to be updated so that students could access services conveniently, stressing that no student grievance should remain pending.
He further directed officials to ensure adequate arrangements for students travelling to and from the university. Emphasising the importance of skill development, Rai proposed establishing facilities on the lines of e-Mitra centres, where students could access computers, photocopying, printing and other essential services.
The Vice-Chancellor also stressed the need to connect students with paid work opportunities, including suitable roles in services such as campus canteens. He encouraged the “Earn While You Learn” concept and directed officials to establish advice centres and form problem-solving groups to assist students.
Rai said the university administration was fully committed to the holistic development of students and that every student-related matter would be addressed on priority.
Members of the DSW Board and faculty members shared their suggestions during the meeting and assured the Vice-Chancellor that his directions would be implemented.
Prof. Ravindra Singh, Prof. Amit Singh, Prof. Vinay Rishiwal, Prof. Pramendra Kumar, Dr Jyoti Pandey, Dr Amit Verma, Dr Rashmi Ranjan, Dr Sumit Srivastava, Dr Priya Saxena, Tapan Verma, Sudhakar and others were present.
