New Delhi: Indian Naval Ships INS Udaygiri, INS Shakti, and INS Kavaratti of the Eastern Fleet have successfully concluded their port call at Singapore’s Changi Naval Base, further reinforcing the strong strategic and maritime partnership between India and Singapore.
The visit formed part of the Indian Navy’s ongoing operational deployment in the region and was led by Rear Admiral Alok Anand, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet.
Conducted in line with the ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation and the Government of India’s Act East Policy, the three-day engagement featured a series of professional interactions aimed at enhancing naval cooperation and interoperability between the two maritime forces.
A key highlight of the visit was a range of cross-deck exchanges and professional engagements that provided personnel from both navies with opportunities to share operational experiences, strengthen mutual understanding, and deepen collaborative ties.

The port call also included an outreach programme for students, with schoolchildren visiting INS Kavaratti to gain first-hand insight into naval operations, life aboard a frontline warship, and the values and traditions that guide the Indian Navy.
The successful completion of the visit marks another important step in the steadily expanding maritime relationship between India and Singapore. The engagements undertaken during the port call have helped strengthen professional exchanges, improve operational cooperation, and promote a shared commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region.
As India continues to deepen its engagement with regional partners, such interactions underscore the growing importance of maritime collaboration in fostering mutual trust, enhancing interoperability, and contributing to a secure and prosperous regional environment.
