Sonbhadra: Divakar Kaushik, Regional Executive Director (North) and Chief Executive Officer of NSPCL, paid an official visit to the NTPC Rihand project, where he reviewed key operational, developmental, and community initiatives being undertaken at the station. He was warmly welcomed by Sanjay Asati, Executive Director and Project Head, NTPC Rihand, upon his arrival at the project premises. Accompanying him on the visit was Seema Kaushik, Chairperson of Uttara Club.
Beginning his busy schedule, Kaushik interacted with rural girls participating in the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) 2026 workshop. He engaged in a heartfelt conversation with the participants and joined them in celebrating a birthday event, extending his best wishes for their bright future.
Later, he chaired a meeting with Station Management Committee (SMC) members at the administrative building and conducted a detailed review of the plant’s performance. He also held productive discussions with representatives of unions and employee associations, emphasizing collaboration and teamwork in achieving organizational goals.
During his tour of the plant area, Kaushik inspected the Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) project and reviewed the progress of ongoing activities. Marking a significant milestone, he inaugurated the Electrical Building of the Limestone and Gypsum Handling System for FGD Stages I and III. He also visited the under-construction 20 MW Solar Power Plant and assessed the progress of the renewable energy project, followed by an inspection of the intake channel.
In the evening, a grand Cultural Evening was organized in his honour at the Tarang Auditorium. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the NTPC song. Welcoming the guests, Project Head Sanjay Asati highlighted the major achievements and ongoing initiatives of the Rihand project.
Students from township schools, Bal Bhavan, EWA, and members of the Women’s Club Welfare Wing captivated the audience with vibrant cultural performances, showcasing their talent and creativity.

Addressing the gathering, Kaushik described his visit to Rihand as a memorable experience and praised the project’s work culture and achievements. He stated that NTPC Rihand is a proud pillar of the Northern Region, consistently demonstrating operational excellence, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to performance.
At the conclusion of the programme, he presented mementoes to the participants of the cultural event, encouraging them to continue pursuing excellence in their respective fields.
Before departing from the project, Kaushik, along with Seema Kaushik, Project Head Sanjay Asati, and Neelu Asati, Chairperson of Vartika Mahila Mandal, planted saplings within the project premises. The plantation drive reflected NTPC’s commitment to environmental sustainability and conveyed a strong message about preserving a green and clean environment.
The visit was attended by senior NTPC officials, office bearers of women’s organizations, employees, and their family members, making it a memorable and inspiring occasion for the entire NTPC Rihand community.
