Lucknow | Two days ahead of the inauguration of the fifth International Urdu–Hindi World Conference, an important review meeting was held at the Gautampalli residence of the conference chairman and former Acting Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Ammar Rizvi. The meeting focused on preparations, programme structure, and organisational arrangements for the upcoming event.
It was decided that the inaugural session will be chaired by former MP and former Uttar Pradesh Minister for Women Welfare and Tourism, Prof. Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Seth, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sanjeev Mishra, and Era Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abbas Ali Mehdi will attend as distinguished guests.
In his remarks, Dr. Rizvi emphasized that Urdu is a cornerstone of India’s cultural identity, social harmony, and shared heritage. Preserving Urdu and Hindi, he said, is a collective responsibility, vital for strengthening intellectual growth and maintaining cultural roots for future generations.
Dr. Rizvi confirmed that the inaugural session will be held on November 30 at Era Medical University, where former Union Minister and former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will be the chief guest. On December 2, an academic session will take place at the University of Lucknow, followed by a grand mushaira in the first week of December at the Maulana Azad Institute.
This year’s conference will highlight youth participation, emerging research themes, new translation trends, and the digital future of language. Special sessions will focus on technology in language use, practical linguistic training, and opportunities for Urdu in the digital age—aimed at equipping the younger generation with academic, research-oriented, and professional linguistic skills.

Participants noted that the conference will provide young attendees with opportunities to engage with leading writers, poets, researchers, and educators from India and abroad, enriching their literary and intellectual development.
The meeting was attended by several prominent literary and academic personalities, including Dr. Haroon Rizvi, Mirza Aslam Beg, Asif Zaman Rizvi, Moosi Raza, Dr. Reshma Parveen, Ateeq Ahmad Ansari, Shahabuddin Khan, Aal Ahmad, Jameel Hasan Naqvi, Ehtesham Khan, Mirza Furqan Beg, Prof. Muntazir Qaemi, and Muhammad Owais Nagrami.
The press statement, issued by Abu Shahma Ansari, noted that the conference aims not only to promote literary activities but also to showcase the relevance, future, and digital potential of Urdu and Hindi—ensuring their strong and evolving presence in the years ahead.
