Kanpur — The 11-day Kanpur Book Fair at the Government Inter College (GIC) grounds in Chunni Ganj concluded on a grand note, marking another successful chapter of the city’s literary celebration. The final day witnessed an overwhelming response from book lovers, with readers thronging the stalls till late evening. Organisers reported sales worth several lakh rupees, with children’s literature, storybooks and competitive exam guides emerging as the top attractions.
Partner Organisations Played a Key Role
The smooth execution of this large-scale event was made possible by the collective efforts of several partner organisations. Major collaborators included Origins, Vijay Studio, Kanpur Metro, Kiran Foundation, City Essence and Trade Mitra.
Publishers and Contributors Felicitated
At the closing ceremony, leading publishers and contributors were honoured with mementoes for their outstanding participation. Among those felicitated were Rajpal & Sons, Rajkamal Prakashan, Lokbharti, Publications Division, Samvidhan Prachar Samiti, Yogoda Satsang, Divyansh Publications, Samayik, Sasta Sahitya Mandal, Hind Yugm, Dinkar Pustakalay, Vedika Books, Ritesh Book, Divyansh and Aditri Prakashan.
Five New Books Launched
A joint literary session hosted by Ira Monthly Web Magazine and Ira Publishers became the highlight of the final day, during which five books were launched:

The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Dr. I. M. Rohtagi and Special Guests Dr. Suresh Awasthi, Dr. Rakesh Shukla and Dr. Jyotsna Mishra.
Senior litterateurs Farooq Jaisi, Naveen Shukla, Munendra Shukla, Suresh Sahni and Ajay Pratap Chauhan shared their insights on the newly released books. The programme was conducted efficiently by Arun Tiwari.
In his concluding address, Fair Director Aakarsh Chandel extended gratitude to book lovers, the GIC principal, Kanpur Municipal Corporation, city police, media representatives and all supporting organisations for contributing to the fair’s success.
