Lucknow: As part of the Birth Centenary Celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Uttar Pradesh, successfully organised a grand “Run for Unity” at the Samajik Parivartan Prateek Sthal in Lucknow, promoting the values of national unity, communal harmony, social fraternity, physical fitness, and the spirit of the Fit India movement.
The event commenced at 5:00 a.m. and witnessed an overwhelming response from the public. More than 2,000 participants aged 15 years and above, representing diverse sections of society irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or community, registered for the programme. Participants enthusiastically took part in 3-km, 5-km, and 10-km run and ride categories.
The programme was graced by Brajesh Pathak, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Justice Attau Rahman Masoodi of the Allahabad High Court (Lucknow Bench), N. B. Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Lucknow, Dr Rajiv Dixit, Director of Lok Bandhu Hospital, Sachin Neb, President of Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Amitabh Saran, Vice-President, along with state-level office bearers and devotees of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Addressing the gathering, Brajesh Pathak praised the Sathya Sai Seva Organisation for its meaningful initiative and highlighted the enduring contribution of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba toward social welfare and human values. He observed that programmes such as the Run for Unity effectively promote the message of national integration, communal harmony, healthy living, and the Fit India campaign, while encouraging young people to embrace a disciplined and active lifestyle.
The event began with the chanting of three Omkarams followed by Vedic hymns, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Prior to the start of the run, participants joined an energetic Zumba fitness session to ensure proper warm-up and physical preparedness.

Participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the event. Complimentary T-shirts and BIB numbers were distributed to all registered runners. Finishers were presented with commemorative medals, participation certificates, energy drinks, and refreshments.
Organisers described the event as a fitting tribute to the timeless teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The programme reinforced his universal messages of “Love All, Serve All” and “Help Ever, Hurt Never,” inspiring citizens to embrace unity, selfless service, compassion, and physical well-being for the betterment of society.
The successful conduct of the Run for Unity reflected the growing commitment of citizens toward nation-building, social harmony, and a healthier future, making it one of the significant public events held in Uttar Pradesh as part of the year-long centenary celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
