SBI Assures Full Cooperation in Ayodhya Ram Mandir Donation Probe

Lucknow: The State Bank of India (SBI) has clarified its role in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the handling of donations received at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, stating that it has fully cooperated with authorities and remains committed to supporting the inquiry.

In a press release issued by SBI’s Local Head Office, Lucknow, the bank said it has been providing banking services to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust since the consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of Lord Shri Ram at the Ram Mandir.

The statement noted that the Government of Uttar Pradesh has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine allegations relating to the handling of donations collected through the temple’s donation boxes, commonly known as Dan Patras.

SBI emphasized that it has extended complete cooperation to the SIT throughout the investigation and will continue to do so as the inquiry progresses. The bank reiterated its commitment to assisting authorities in ensuring a thorough and transparent investigation.
