Lucknow: In the Sarojininagar region of the state capital, singer Yo Yo Honey Singh delivered a historic live concert. Smriti Upvan, Ashiyana, remained charged with excitement as thousands of youths grooved late into the night. More than 35,000 young people attended the concert. Organised under the leadership of MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh as part of ‘Yuva Utsav @ Sarojininagar’, the event is being regarded as the first major international-level youth concert in Lucknow, both in scale and energy. A key highlight was that entry was fully free and pass-based.
A remarkable example of community participation in Sarojininagar
The event saw participation from over 100 schools and colleges, 100 RWAs, and 100 market and community associations of the region. It is being counted among the largest and most inclusive community events ever held in Sarojininagar.
“Music is our faith, culture and energy” – Dr. Rajeshwar Singh
Addressing the youth, Dr. Singh said: “I can see 35,000 smiling faces… I can hear 35,000 beating hearts… today I am witnessing 35,000 dreams coming alive. Tonight, the energy is one, the vibe is one, the spirit is one.” He added: “People say leaders only listen to devotional songs—this is not true. Music is our faith, our culture, and our energy. Be it rap, trance or devotional music — every beat connects, every beat uplifts. Politics has its own beats, and development has its own style. A new Sarojininagar is writing a new history tonight.” He said Lucknow is transforming rapidly and moving towards becoming a global city, with the goal of establishing it as ‘India’s Lifestyle Capital’.

Dr. Singh expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, stating that the event was possible because of his support and leadership. He also acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India and Skill India missions, which, he said, have empowered a new generation of youth.
He thanked the Chief Secretary, DGP, Police Commissioner, DM Lucknow, and all departments involved. Dr. Singh also thanked the thousands of police personnel deployed for security and the volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event successful.
Honey Singh – ‘The Icon of Comeback’
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh said: “Honey Singh is not just a superstar, he is a global icon and my friend. He is an icon of comeback. His journey from hundred to zero, and from zero back to a thousand is an inspiration in itself. Today, he stands as a global superstar symbolising courage, resilience and confidence.”

Honey Singh said: “For many, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh is a politician; for me, he is a True Leader.”
He recalled his long association with Dr. Singh and said, “I work all night. When I finish and go to sleep, he is already out on his morning walk- that is the best time to meet him.”
Honey Singh took a pledge from the youth to stay away from drugs, sharing that drugs had ruined several years of his life.
He said, “Even if someone calls it the blessing of Lord Shiva, stay away from intoxicants. My fight against drugs continues, and Dr. Rajeshwar Singh stands with me. I ask the youth to join this fight.”
Strong security & management arrangements
The venue was kept as a no-seating zone, where youth enjoyed the three-hour performance standing with high energy. International-standard lighting, sound and stage production were used. Given the massive turnout, multi-layered security arrangements were made, including: High-tech control room for real-time monitoring, 150 AI-enabled high-resolution cameras across the venue, DFMD gates and hand-held detectors at all entry points, 200 trained private security personnel from Delhi, Adequate deployment of Lucknow Police,Dedicated entry–exit routes and strict access control, Special crowd-management team, Traffic diversions and parking management with help of district administration, These arrangements ensured that the event remained safe, organised and incident-free.
