Uttar Pradesh Launches ‘Zero Poverty Campaign’ in Mission Mode

Seven key welfare schemes to achieve 100% coverage by November 15; CM Yogi directs officials to ensure no eligible family is left behind

Lucknow: In a significant move toward building a poverty-free Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to implement the ‘Zero Poverty Campaign’ in mission mode. The campaign aims to ensure that every eligible household in the state receives benefits from seven priority welfare schemes by November 15, marking the completion of its first phase.

Under this initiative, beneficiaries will be covered under the Ration Card Scheme, Divyang Pension, Widow Pension, Old Age Pension, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat (PM Jan Arogya Yojana). These schemes collectively aim to provide essential support, from food security and healthcare to housing and income stability, ensuring comprehensive social security for all.

During a high-level review meeting, CM Yogi emphasized that “no eligible family should remain deprived of government benefits.” He instructed officials to identify and include all eligible beneficiaries through an intensive, month-long campaign.

The Chief Minister further directed that all applications under PM Awas Yojana and CM Awas Yojana be expedited for identified families. He also stressed that every family member’s name must be listed on the ration card, ensuring access to subsidized food and related welfare provisions.

CM Yogi has mandated that while the first phase of the campaign concludes by November 15, the verification of schemes under the second phase must be completed by November 30. The progress of the campaign will be monitored at both state and district levels to ensure transparency and timely implementation.

The Zero Poverty Campaign reflects the government’s commitment to not just provide social welfare but also to empower the poor toward self-reliance. Through integrated welfare delivery and effective monitoring, Uttar Pradesh seeks to create a robust framework that addresses poverty at its root and ensures that growth reaches the last mile.

This initiative is being seen as a transformative step in realizing the vision of a poverty-free, self-reliant Uttar Pradesh, where every family has access to basic amenities and social security.
