Affordable Medicines Help Patients Save ₹128 Crore as PlatinumRx Crosses One Million Users

Mumbai: With chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease becoming increasingly common across India, the cost of long-term medication continues to place a significant financial burden on millions of families. In a development that highlights the growing demand for affordable healthcare solutions, PlatinumRx has announced that it has crossed the milestone of one million users, helping patients collectively save more than ₹128 crore on their medicine expenses.

According to the company, the savings have been achieved by providing access to branded generic medicines, offering patients more economical alternatives to higher-priced prescription drugs without compromising on quality.

Ashutosh Pandey, Co-founder of PlatinumRx, said the ₹128 crore savings represent far more than just a business milestone.

“Behind this figure are families that can now allocate money towards essential needs such as education, household expenses, and daily living costs instead of spending a large portion of their income on medicines,” he said.

The company specializes in connecting patients with branded generic medicines that contain the same active pharmaceutical ingredients used in many expensive branded medications. By choosing these alternatives, patients are reportedly able to reduce their monthly medicine expenditure by 50 to 60 percent while continuing their prescribed treatment.

PlatinumRx stated that its services now reach more than 20,000 pin codes across the country, significantly expanding access to affordable medicines. In several cities, medicine deliveries are being completed within a day, making treatment both accessible and convenient for patients.

The company estimates that individuals suffering from chronic conditions are saving an average of around ₹1,500 every month on medication costs. This growing awareness of cost-effective treatment options has contributed to an increasing acceptance of branded generic medicines among consumers seeking quality healthcare at lower prices.

Healthcare experts have often emphasized that affordability plays a crucial role in treatment adherence, particularly for patients requiring lifelong medication. By reducing the financial burden associated with chronic disease management, affordable medicine platforms are helping many patients continue treatment consistently and avoid interruptions caused by high costs.

As healthcare expenses continue to rise, the rapid growth of affordable medicine initiatives reflects a broader shift toward accessible and sustainable healthcare solutions, enabling more people to receive the treatment they need without placing undue strain on household finances.
