Research Presentations Successfully Conducted at Rohilkhand University’s Centre for Multilingual Excellence

Admissions Open for Job-Oriented M.A. Programmes in Functional Hindi and Pali

Bareilly: The Centre of Excellence for Multilingual Studies (CoEMS) at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, successfully organized the viva voce examinations and presentations of mini research dissertations by final-year students of the M.A. Functional Hindi programme.

During the academic exercise, students presented research studies exploring diverse dimensions of literature, language, and culture, showcasing their analytical and research skills.

The dissertations were evaluated by distinguished scholar Prof. K.K. Kaushik, former Head of the Hindi Department at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, who attended as the external examiner. Appreciating the quality of the research work, Prof. Kaushik observed that students of the Centre for Multilingual Excellence are demonstrating remarkable academic and research potential.

Among the presentations, the dissertation titled “A Study of Folk Language, Folk Culture and Dramatic Elements in the Literature of Pandit Radheshyam Kathavachak”, submitted by Deepti Shweta, a final-year M.A. Functional Hindi student, received special praise from the evaluators. The research offered an in-depth analysis of Pandit Radheshyam Kathavachak’s literary contributions, his role in promoting public awareness through literature, and his significance in the development of Hindi literary traditions.

Prof. Kaushik commended the study for its originality, scholarly depth, and research-oriented approach, describing it as an excellent example of serious academic inquiry. He encouraged students to continue pursuing research and contribute meaningfully to the field of language and literature. Internal examiners Krishna Ketan and Dr. Rahul Kumar were also present during the evaluation process.

Admissions Begin for Career-Oriented Postgraduate Programmes

The university also announced the commencement of admissions for its two-year postgraduate programmes being offered through the Centre of Excellence for Multilingual Studies (CoEMS) for the academic session 2026–27.

Applications are currently open for M.A. Functional Hindi and M.A. Pali programmes, both designed to combine language and literary studies with employability-focused skills.

The M.A. Functional Hindi programme prepares students for careers in media, journalism, mass communication, advertising, translation, content writing, publishing, and administrative services. Meanwhile, the M.A. Pali programme offers opportunities in research, higher education, Buddhist studies, cultural studies, archaeology, museums, and academic institutions.

University officials stated that in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the programmes emphasize multidisciplinary learning and skill-based education, enabling students to meet the evolving demands of the modern job market. The courses are designed to strengthen language proficiency, research aptitude, communication skills, and professional competence.

Each programme offers 40 seats, with an annual fee of ₹7,550. Candidates who have completed graduation from a recognized university are eligible to apply.
