Saeed Ahmed Clinches Title at CCBBW Rapid Open Chess Tournament in Lucknow

Lucknow – Veteran player Saeed Ahmed displayed commanding form to win the champion’s trophy at the CCBBW Rapid Open Chess Tournament, organized by the Chess Club Black & White (CCBBW) at a private hotel in the city. After seven rounds, Ahmed topped the leaderboard with a total of seven points. Close on his heels, Shakeeluddin, Kaushal Yadav, Krishna Agrawal, and Abhigyan Katiyar shared second place, each scoring five points.

In the Junior category, 12-year-old Saksham Srivastava emerged victorious with 6.5 points. Darsh Agrawal finished as runner-up with six points, just half a point behind.

The Senior Citizens category saw K.K. Khare take the top spot with 4.5 points, while Mohammad Irfan secured second place with four points. R.P. Gupta, U.B. Singh, Jamal, and Avadhesh Kumar tied for third with three points each.

In addition, Nikhar Saxena was recognized as the Best Unrated Player with 4.5 points. The SR Global School team impressed in the Children’s category with a remarkable performance.

During the prize distribution ceremony, chief guest and sports journalist Sharad Deep presented the awards, emphasizing to the players that “there is no shortcut to success; discipline, dedication, and commitment are the keys to excelling in sports.”
