“Collective resolve, innovation, and public participation are key to transforming urban India”

Lucknow / Moradabad: Moradabad’s impressive rise to the 10th position in the Swachh Survekshan 2024 has earned it high praise from Uttar Pradesh’s Urban Development and Energy Minister, A.K. Sharma, who chaired a high-level review meeting of the Urban Development Department  at the Circuit House Auditorium in Moradabad.

Congratulating the Moradabad Municipal Corporation, the Mayor, public representatives, and citizens,  Sharma lauded the city’s efforts as a shining example of “collective resolve and dedication.” He called it a testament to what can be achieved when government, administration, and the public work in unison.

“Top 3 is Our Resolve,” Says Minister A.K. Sharma

Minister Sharma set an ambitious new goal for the city — to secure a position among the top 3 cleanest cities in the country in the upcoming Swachh Survekshan. “This is not just a target, it is our resolve,” he declared. Reassuring city officials, he emphasized, “Lack of funds will not be allowed to hinder development efforts.

Moradabad as a Model for Other Cities: Minister A.K. Sharma

Impressed by these efforts, Minister Sharma remarked:

Moradabad’s success proves that when intention meets action, no goal is beyond reach. Other urban bodies in Uttar Pradesh should look to Moradabad for inspiration and emulate its model of collaborative governance and innovation.”

He called for a renewed commitment from all stakeholders and urged civic officials to remain sensitive to public needs and ensure that government schemes benefit the grassroots.

Collective Pledge from Local Leaders

During the meeting, local councillors, the Mayor, MLAs, and civic officials shared updates on the initiatives taken in their respective areas and collectively pledged to make Moradabad one of the top three cleanest cities in India.
