145 boxes of liquor going from Punjab to Bihar caught in Lucknow

Lucknow: Due to the activeness of the Excise team of Lucknow, 145 boxes of liquor going from Punjab to Bihar have been caught. On receiving information from an informer, a truck loaded with whiskey was caught during checking on Shahid Path (near Aurangabad underpass) late last night and the truck driver has been arrested.

Giving this information, District Excise Officer, Lucknow,  Rakesh Singh said that information was received from an informer about smuggling of liquor to Bihar.

On the information, a joint team of Excise and Police started a checking campaign to catch the truck mentioned by the informer on Shahid Path (near Aurangabad underpass). After some time, the truck mentioned by the informer was seen coming and it was stopped and checked, in which 145 boxes of whiskey liquor allowed for sale in Punjab and 50 boxes of husk sacks were recovered, which were being taken to Bihar via Lucknow.

The driver of the truck Dharmendra son of Azad Singh resident of Jatipur police station Salkhana district Panipat Haryana was arrested.

The six-wheeled truck was seized. Accused Dharmendra told that this truck was given to him by Pradeep Dahiya and Kuldeep Gulia in Sonipat which he had to take to Bihar. On checking the driver’s cabin of the truck, along with the documents of the vehicle, a tax invoice paper was also found, on which Kabira Enterprises Amritsar Punjab and Siliguri Suppliers West Bengal are mentioned as the sending and receiving firms.
