Lucknow: On the occasion of the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Swachhta Pakhwada is being organized across the state which was inaugurated today in Lucknow district by the Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Minister in-charge of Lucknow, Suresh Kumar Khanna.
During this, he inspired people for cleanliness by sweeping the colony and cleaning the drain at the inauguration of the program in Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Duda Colony Takrohi. MLA Yogesh Shukla, District President Ram Niwas, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, District Officer Suryapal Gangwar, Municipal Commissioner Indrajeet Singh and others were present.
The Minister in charge appealed to the people to make cleanliness a part of their daily routine. We all feel the need and utility of cleanliness, but it is our habit that whatever activities we do throughout the day and whatever we use, we throw its envelope and waste here and there. Instead of doing this, we should throw the peel, envelope or wrapper in the dustbin or at the designated place only.
If our Prime Minister eats something, he keeps its peel or packet in his pocket and throws it at the appropriate place, from whom we should take inspiration. It is our responsibility that we do not throw garbage here and there. If we do not think about it, then the municipal corporation employees will come in the morning and clean and go away. If we do not cooperate in this work in our daily routine and do not realize it in every way, then the cleanliness system will not be in order. He said that cleanliness is the biggest need of our life.
Suresh Kumar Khanna quoted a sher of Akbar Allahabadi, “Khuda ne aaj tak use kaum ki haal nahi badli, na ho khayal jinko khud apne haal ko badalne ka” and said that if we change, then the world will change. If we do not discipline ourselves and do not realize its need ourselves, then we cannot maintain cleanliness.
Khanna said that if we look at Indore, then it has been at the first place in the country in terms of cleanliness for the last several years. Every citizen there feels proud while introducing himself that he is from that city, which is first in the country in cleanliness. In which he also cooperates.
He said that understanding the importance of cleanliness, our Prime Minister took up the cause and motivated people for cleanliness by facilitating them in every way. He arranged for toilets in every home. He tried to make every person aware of cleanliness and also realize that cleanliness is his responsibility. He said that if we keep our surroundings clean, diseases will not arise. The biggest reason for diseases is water logging and garbage accumulation.
Officers and employees of Municipal Corporation Lucknow will run a campaign in Duda Colony for the next 72 hours and remove all the deficiencies there like street lights, drinking water, sewer, potholes on roads etc. and all the problems related to cleanliness. He said that after this it is our responsibility to keep it clean in future as well. He said that until cleanliness does not become a part of the daily routine of the common man, the objective of cleanliness and healthy environment will not be fulfilled.
The Minister in charge said that our Prime Minister and Chief Minister pick up the broom so that people’s hesitation is removed and people are inspired to keep their homes and doors clean. To create awareness about cleanliness, today the Hon’ble Chief Minister is initiating Swachhata Pakhwada in Varanasi and other ministers of the cabinet are initiating Swachhata Pakhwada in their respective districts to encourage people to be clean so that people can cooperate in the cleanliness work and make our state clean and tidy.
Suresh Kumar Khanna said that if we change, then this mohalla will change, ward will change, street will change, only if all the people think this, then only we can do it completely.
Only then we can remain healthy and the objective of this cleanliness program will be successful. He inspired people to adopt cleanliness and cooperate in cleanliness work with slogans like ‘We all have decided to make Lucknow clean’ and ‘UP will also become Indore, Lucknow will start it’. He wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday and said that Modi started this campaign after Mahatma Gandhi ji in 2014, understanding the importance of cleanliness. Various diseases like Chikungunya, Malaria, Dengue etc. can be prevented through cleanliness.
The Minister-in-Charge planted a vine near the Shiva temple in Purva Indiranagar. He said that today is the birth anniversary of Vishwakarma, who is considered as a craftsman.
The Minister-in-Charge reached Jhulelal Park, where he also explained the importance of cleanliness to the youth of Nehru Yuva Kendra and other organizations and motivated them to keep their surroundings clean and cooperate in cleaning work.
He made people aware of cleanliness by sweeping there. During this, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh was also present. The Chief Secretary motivated the youth to adopt cleanliness in their daily routine. He said that cleanliness is a daily activity, we have to incorporate it in our life and constantly include it in our daily routine. During these programs, local MLAs, Mayor, Municipal Corporation officers and employees, Chairman of Swachhata Protsahan Samiti Sunil Mishra and other local residents were present.
