Yogi govt to establish 33 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics

Lucknow: In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to accelerate industrial development, the process has begun to establish 33 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters (IMLCs) along expressways across 30 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The districts earmarked for the construction of these IMLCs, covering a total area of 6,149.30 hectares, include key locations such as Meerut, Hapur, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj, all connected by the Ganga Expressway.

Similarly, the process of construction of IMLCs in Chitrakoot in the form of Industrial Corridor, as well as a node for the Defense Corridor is proposed alongside the Bundelkhand Expressway. IMLCs in Banda, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jalaun and Auraiya is also proposed near Bundelkhand Expressway.

Furthermore, IMLCs are also proposed near the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway, and Purvanchal Expressway. To facilitate these developments, various reports will be compiled to complete the environmental and other clearance processes. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has initiated this process.

According to CM Yogi’s vision, the 33 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters to be established across 30 districts will be situated along five major expressways. These include the Ganga Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, Agra-Lucknow Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway, and Purvanchal Expressway.

Out of these, additional land allotments for the Defence Corridor will be made in Agra and Aligarh along the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Industrial Corridors will also be established as IMLC in Firozabad, Etawah, and Kannauj. Additionally, a land node for the Defence Corridor is proposed in Kanpur along with the construction of an Industrial Corridor.

The plan includes developing an Industrial Corridor on 62.93 hectares in Gorakhpur along the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, and additional Industrial Corridors in 143.63 hectares and 230.84 hectares in Ambedkarnagar.

For the Purvanchal Expressway, the development of Industrial Corridors under IMLC is proposed in 90 hectares in Lucknow, 246.30 hectares in Barabanki, 148.68 hectares in Amethi, 338.99 hectares in Sultanpur, and 415.21 hectares in Ghazipur.

Since environmental and forest clearances are required for all scheduled projects, UPEIDA has initiated a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to select a consultant agency. Once the selection process is complete, the agency will be assigned the task of preparing and compiling various reports related to the IMLC project within 120 days.

The agency will need to conduct surveys in all designated areas and form a team comprising environmental specialists, socio-economic experts, and forest-ecology and biodiversity professionals to complete the necessary assessments.

3D Models of various expressways to be showcased at the UP International Trade Show

UPEIDA is set to make a significant impact at the UP International Trade Show, taking place from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The authority will feature 3D models of various state expressways in a dedicated exhibition space of 400 to 500 square meters in Hall 8. This showcase will also highlight industrial and defense clusters.

Fifty officials will be on hand to engage in meetings and sign MoUs with investors and business leaders attending the expo. The UPEIDA booth will be designed to be highly attractive, featuring models of defense equipment alongside the expressway displays.
