Why Arjan Bajwa believes inner strength defines true fitness

Mumbai: In an industry that often celebrates rapid physical transformations, actor Arjan Bajwa chooses a more balanced and mindful path. Known for his work in GuruFashion and State of Siege: 26/11, Bajwa says his idea of fitness begins from within.

“True resilience comes from being strong within, not just building muscles. Mental health is the foundation,” he says, adding that physical appearance holds little value if the mind is not in the right place.

He shares that his approach to fitness is rooted in consistency rather than extremes. “I treat fitness like a long-term commitment, not a quick fix,” he says. Bajwa works out regularly but believes in staying flexible. “Even if I miss the gym, I make sure I move—whether it’s a short workout or a walk,” he adds.

Talking about his routine, he says it includes a mix of incline walking, brisk cardio, and short sprints. “This variety keeps the body active and prevents it from getting too comfortable,” he explains.

When it comes to diet, Bajwa believes in balance over restriction. “I don’t believe in depriving myself. I eat clean, simple food that suits my body,” he says. At the same time, he allows himself small indulgences. “If I want dessert, I have it without guilt. Balance is what makes everything sustainable,” he adds.

He also highlights the importance of recovery. “Sleep is non-negotiable. That’s when your body repairs and your mind resets,” he says, adding that supplements like ashwagandha and magnesium have helped him stay calm and energised.

Beyond fitness, Bajwa focuses on mental well-being through travel and learning. “You need a life beyond work. That’s what keeps you grounded,” he says.

Summing up his philosophy, he adds, “Fitness is about consistency, balance, and taking care of your mind as much as your body.”
