Lucknow: Lucknow Metro passengers will now have an additional and convenient transport option for travelling between metro stations and nearby residential and commercial areas, with the launch of the electric feeder vehicle service ‘Anjaneya’ on Wednesday.
The service is aimed at strengthening last-mile connectivity for metro commuters and will be inaugurated at 5 pm at Amausi Metro Station.
Service to Begin on Four Routes
In the initial phase, the electric feeder service will operate on four routes. Fares have been fixed between ₹15 and ₹50, depending on the route and distance.
The feeder vehicles will operate from 6 am to 10:30 pm, providing passengers with an extended transport window for reaching metro stations and travelling onward to their destinations.
The initiative is designed to make metro travel more accessible by providing a safe, convenient and affordable transport link between stations and surrounding areas.
Safety Features for Passengers
Passenger safety has been given priority in the new electric feeder vehicles. The vehicles will be equipped with SOS emergency facilities, CCTV cameras and GPS-based monitoring systems.
These features are intended to provide passengers with a safer travel experience while enabling continuous monitoring of the vehicles during operations.
Push for Green and Sustainable Mobility
The ‘Anjaneya’ electric feeder service is being introduced with the objective of promoting cleaner and more sustainable public transportation.
The integration of electric feeder vehicles with the metro network will give commuters an additional option for travelling between metro stations and nearby localities, potentially encouraging greater use of public transport while reducing dependence on conventional vehicles.
Inauguration at Amausi Metro Station
The launch programme will be held at Amausi Metro Station at 5 pm on August 12, 2026. Media representatives have also been invited to attend the inauguration.
The new feeder service is expected to strengthen the connectivity of Lucknow Metro and make end-to-end public transport more convenient for daily commuters.
