Sultanpur DM Reviews Development and Revenue Work During Inspection of Jaisinghpur Block

Strict Directions Issued on Public Grievance Redressal, Electricity Supply, Lok Adalat and Farmer Welfare

Sultanpur: DM Indrajeet Singh conducted an extensive inspection of the Jaisinghpur development block along with Chief Development Officer Vinay Kumar Singh and later chaired a detailed review meeting at the tehsil auditorium.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate examined cleanliness arrangements, the meeting hall, video conferencing facilities, and other administrative sections of the block office. He issued necessary instructions to the Block Development Officer and informed officials that regular interaction with block-level officers would now be carried out through video conferencing from the district headquarters to review development-related issues.

The subsequent review meeting was attended by the SDM, Tehsildar, and officials and employees from tehsil and block-level departments. Detailed discussions were held regarding the functioning of the revenue, panchayat, electricity, and other related departments.

Emphasising speedy justice and public convenience, the District Magistrate said Lok Adalat proceedings should become a daily exercise to ensure maximum disposal of pending disputes. He directed officials to handle disputed inheritance matters with sensitivity and a humanitarian approach. He also instructed that inheritance-related documents should ideally be provided to the deceased person’s family by the thirteenth-day ritual itself, so that grieving families do not face unnecessary hardship.

The DM advised officers and employees to work with honesty, transparency, and adherence to principles of humanity and natural justice. He warned revenue officials, including lekhpals and revenue inspectors, against submitting incorrect reports, stating that strict action would be taken in cases of false reporting. He observed that many disputes could be resolved automatically if field-level reports were prepared honestly and accurately.

Reviewing electricity-related complaints, the District Magistrate expressed displeasure with the electricity department after learning that power supply had remained disrupted in two villages for the past 10 days. He reprimanded the concerned SDO and ordered immediate restoration of services.

During the disaster management review, the DM instructed officials to ensure relief assistance reaches affected persons within 24 hours of any disaster situation. He also expressed dissatisfaction over low preventive action in the SDM court and directed officials to take effective legal measures wherever necessary.

Reviewing farmer registration and Farmer ID generation, the District Magistrate directed all lekhpals to establish direct contact with every cultivator and ensure completion of farmer registrations. He also stressed the increased use of technology and maintenance of daily work diaries by officials.

While reviewing complaints on the IGRS portal, the DM said higher-level monitoring was exposing instances of incorrect reporting by revenue staff, warning that strict disciplinary action would follow in such cases. He instructed officials to ensure quality and timely disposal of matters related to caste, income and residence certificates, correction of records, inheritance disputes, anti-land mafia operations, mutation cases, and proceedings under various revenue sections.

The District Magistrate also directed officials to widely publicise the Chief Minister’s Farmer Accident Insurance Scheme and ensure eligible farmers receive its benefits. He ordered immediate disposal of 15 pending cases under the scheme.

The condition of cow shelters was also reviewed during the meeting. The DM instructed officials to ensure that all government services are made available through the Panchayat Bhawan operating in Gram Panchayat Jaisinghpur. He warned that regular inspections of Panchayat Bhawans would be conducted and action would be taken against absent officials and employees.

Regarding preparations for Census 2027, the District Magistrate instructed officers and employees to spread awareness about self-enumeration and complete all necessary preparations in advance. He reiterated that development works across the district would continue to be reviewed regularly through video conferencing and direct interaction with block-level officials.

Concluding the meeting, the District Magistrate directed all departments to work in coordination and ensure prompt and effective resolution of public grievances while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and administrative accountability.
