Solar Parks near Bundelkhand Expressway discussed threadbare

Lucknow: A one-day workshop was organized at Hotel Renaissance, Lucknow to discuss the proposal related to the development of solar parks on both sides of the Bundelkhand Expressway constructed by UPEIDA (Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority). This workshop was organized in the presence of Industrial Development Minister  Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’  and Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Government Manoj Kumar Singh.

Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd., Principal Secretary Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department, Additional Chief Executive Officer UPEIDA and senior officers of other related departments of the government were also present in the workshop.

Solar energy experts and producers from all over the country participated in this workshop. Prominent among them were Mahapreet, Tata Power, GMR Group, NTPC, Adani Solar Energy, Atria Power, Satvik Green, OMC Power, Torrent Power, R. A. V. C. Solution, Awaada Group, HPM Solar, Novasis Green and SJVN Ltd. Representatives of all these companies were present.

 

The project consultant, M/s Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, provided detailed information on the establishment of solar parks on both sides of the Bundelkhand Expressway on this occasion. It was informed that, under this project, about 1500 hectares of land will be available, on which 450 MW of solar energy can be produced. Bundelkhand region is the most suitable region for solar energy production.

In the workshop, various queries related to the project were discussed with the experts and satisfactory answers were provided to them.

On this occasion, the Chief Secretary said in his address that, this project has been conceived as a model project, which can be adopted in other states as well. The Chief Guest, Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said in his statement that due to the efforts of the Prime Minister of the country and the Chief Minister of the state, industrial development is taking place at a rapid pace in the state, which will make a significant contribution in making Uttar Pradesh a ‘trillion dollar economy’.

He also said that the development of solar parks on both sides of Bundelkhand Expressway will develop an innovative and sustainable infrastructure project, which will prove helpful in the overall development of the state.
