Varanasi: The 66th foundation day of the Shree Sarveshwari Group was celebrated with enthusiasm and spiritual fervour at Aghor Peeth, Shree Sarveshwari Group Sansthan Devasthanam and Avdhoot Bhagwan Ram Kushtha Seva Ashram at Padao in Varanasi on Monday.
The celebrations were held in the presence of the organisation’s president, Pujyapad Baba Aghor Gurupad Sambhav Ram, and witnessed the participation of office-bearers, members and devotees.
The day began with cleanliness activities and voluntary labour. At around 6 am, a procession set out from the Padao Ashram and passed through Prahlad Ghat, Machhodari, Maidagin, Kabirchaura, Lahurabir, Kachahari and Pandeypur before reaching Aghor-Tekri in Sarnath. The sacred sandals of Param Pujya Aghoreshwar Mahaprabhu were worshipped and the flag was hoisted by Dr Shiv Pujan Singh, secretary of the organisation.
Following the recitation of Saphalyoni Path by Prithvipal, devotees took prasad before proceeding towards the Padao Ashram through Ashapur, Panchkroshi, Madan Mohan Malviya Road, Kazzakpura and the old GT Road via Rajghat Bridge.
At around 9:15 am, Baba Aghor Gurupad Sambhav Ram performed worship of the idol of Aghoracharya Maharaj Shri Baba Keenaram Ji and hoisted the Sarveshwari flag at the Padao Ashram. This was followed by Saphalyoni Path by Dr Ashok Kumar, Director of the Aghor Research Institute and Library, after which devotees received prasad.
Earlier, at around 5:30 am, another group of devotees organised a Prabhat Pheri on foot to the Aghoreshwar Mahavibhuti Sthal. They returned to the Padao Ashram carrying kalash filled with Ganga water from Aghoreshwar Bhagwan Ram Ghat. The kalash were placed at the platform of the Sarveshwari flag, the main entrance of the ashram and the Ganesh Peeth entrance, where lamps were lit.
The procession was led by motorcyclists, followed by a vehicle carrying a large portrait of the organisation’s founder, Param Pujya Aghoreshwar Bhagwan Ram Ji. Hundreds of devotees participated in the procession in their private vehicles.
Addressing office-bearers, members and devotees at the foundation day programme, Baba Aghor Gurupad Sambhav Ram said the teachings of Aghoreshwar Mahaprabhu and other spiritual masters provide guidance for improving human life at both social and spiritual levels.
He said their teachings were not limited to spiritual practice but also offered values for family and social life. Referring to the concepts of jeevatva and shivatva, he said human beings should move beyond worldly attachments through practice, spiritual discipline, prayer and righteous conduct.
Baba Aghor Gurupad Sambhav Ram also emphasised the importance of hard work and self-reliance. He said excessive dependence on others and a tendency to seek comfort without effort could weaken an individual’s capacity for action. He urged people to perform their responsibilities themselves and remain committed to sustained effort.
Calling faith and disciplined conduct essential for personal growth, he stressed the importance of truthfulness, honesty and avoiding greed and unethical practices. He also underlined the need for patience, dialogue and restraint in family and social relationships, saying that minor disagreements should not be allowed to develop into lasting conflicts.
He urged people to follow laws and ethical principles and to take decisions with a long-term perspective rather than seeking immediate gains through wrongful means. Referring to the inevitability of death, he said human life was limited and should not be wasted in greed, deception, exploitation and selfish pursuits.
He concluded by saying that individuals should not consider themselves helpless before circumstances, but should continue making efforts to bring about positive change through determination and purposeful action.
Food Distribution Among Patients and Children
As part of the foundation day observance, the Shree Sarveshwari Group distributed roasted gram, fruits, biscuits and fruit juice among 160 patients admitted at Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Hospital in Ramnagar and 72 children at the Government Children’s Home.
The initiative received the cooperation of hospital officials, including Chief Medical Superintendent P.R. Tiwari and eye surgeon Dr Sanjay Sharma, as well as Ashok Kumar, superintendent of the children’s home.
Representatives and volunteers of the organisation, including vice-presidents Dr Braj Bhushan Singh and Suresh Singh, publicity minister Parasnath Yadav and member Deshratna Pandey, participated in the distribution programme.
The 66th foundation day was also observed with enthusiasm at various branches, ashrams and places of worship of the Shree Sarveshwari Group across the country.
In Varanasi, celebrations were also held at Sarveshwari Niwas, the spiritual site of Aghoreshwar Mahaprabhu located at Haji Suleman’s Garden opposite Manduadih railway station. The programme included worship and hoisting of the Sarveshwari flag by Sushil Kumar Singh.
The foundation day programmes combined spiritual observances with community service, reflecting the organisation’s emphasis on spiritual practice alongside social responsibility.
