Security Alert Issued in Uttar Pradesh Ahead of Holi Celebrations

Strict Action Against Rumor-Mongers, Special Vigilance in Sensitive Districts

Lucknow: Ahead of the vibrant festival of Holi, the Uttar Pradesh administration has issued a high-security alert across the state. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading rumors or attempting to disrupt communal harmony.

Special Arrangements in Sensitive Districts

In light of past incidents and intelligence inputs, special vigilance is being maintained in sensitive districts, including Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, Meerut, Saharanpur, and Aligarh. Additional police forces have been deployed to ensure peace and security.

Police Deployment for Processions

To prevent any untoward incidents, the administration has made elaborate security arrangements for Holi processions. Police personnel will be deployed at key locations to monitor the situation and manage the large gatherings effectively.

ATS and STF Commandos in Civilian Clothes

In a strategic move, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Special Task Force (STF) commandos will also be stationed in plain clothes to closely monitor and neutralize any potential threats.

Increased Vigilance Due to Friday Prayers

With Holi celebrations coinciding with Jumu’ah (Friday prayers), the state administration has heightened security across the region. Religious places, marketplaces, and public areas will be under strict surveillance to prevent any disturbances.

DGP Issues Directives to Officials

Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar has directed officials across the state to maintain law and order. He has instructed district officers to remain on high alert, ensure coordination among various security agencies, and take immediate action in case of any disturbances.

The Uttar Pradesh Police has urged citizens to celebrate Holi responsibly and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. With these measures in place, the administration aims to ensure a safe and joyous festival for all.
