AIIMS Raebareli Signs MoU with Seva Daan Arogya Foundation to Build Night Shelter for Patients’ Attendants

Raebareli: In a significant step towards improving patient care and support services, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raebareli and Seva Daan Arogya Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of a night shelter for attendants of patients visiting the institute.

The MoU exchange ceremony was held in the presence of AIIMS Raebareli Executive Director Amita Jain. Under the agreement, Seva Daan Arogya Foundation will construct a dedicated rest house within the AIIMS campus to provide safe, hygienic and dignified accommodation for family members accompanying patients, particularly those travelling from distant locations for medical treatment.

The agreement was formally signed by Colonel Akhilesh Singh, Deputy Director (Administration), on behalf of AIIMS Raebareli, and Amit Das, representing Seva Daan Arogya Foundation. The signed documents were exchanged during the ceremony attended by senior officials from both organisations.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Amita Jain said that providing comfortable accommodation for attendants is an important aspect of compassionate healthcare. She noted that the initiative would significantly ease the burden on families who often spend several days at the hospital while their loved ones undergo treatment.

The event was attended by Financial Advisor Colonel U. N. Rai, Superintending Engineer Harish Yadav, officials from the engineering department, and representatives of Seva Daan Arogya Foundation, including Amit Das and D. D. Pandey.

Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to working together to make healthcare services more accessible, patient-centric and humane. Once completed, the night shelter is expected to benefit thousands of patients and their attendants by providing secure and affordable accommodation during the course of treatment, strengthening AIIMS Raebareli’s patient support infrastructure.
