Not only this, the process of making the power line underground is also going on. Along with this, many other important works are also being carried forward rapidly.
Construction of two new sub-stations
In view of Maha Kumbh 2025, 132/33 kV transmission sub-station Hetapatti is being constructed in Gangapar Jhunsi area. This sub-station will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the fair area and urban and rural areas (Awas Vikas, Trivenipuram, Sahason, Hetapatti) with a population of about 2.50 lakh. Similarly, New Bailey substation is also being built, which will provide electricity to about 1 lakh population of areas like Bailey, Myorabad, Katra and Rajapur.
Capacity enhancement of substations
The capacity of Phaphamau substation is being increased, which will provide better power supply to about 50 thousand residents of Phaphamau market, rural area and Shantipuram. Along with this, the major substations of the city are being connected through interlink line, which will provide uninterrupted power to 7 lakh people.
Construction of interlink line
12 interlink lines are being built to connect 12 major 33/11 kV substations of the city. This will supply electricity to areas like Civil Lines, Bairhana, Rambagh, High Court, Karaili, Khusrobagh, Prayagraj Junction, Bailey and Phaphamau.
Process of undergrounding the power line
All HT and LT lines of Airport Road, Baghambari Road and Peshvai Marg have been undergrounded. This will enhance the beauty of these areas and prevent accidents. Also, the obstructing power lines during the procession of the Akharas have been removed and buried underground.
Installation of RMU
To keep the power supply running continuously during Maha Kumbh, 33 KV RMUs (Ring Main Unit) are being installed at Awas Vikas, Daraganj, Fort Road and Someshwarnath sub-centres. In case of any fault, the supply will be restored within 10 to 15 seconds, which will provide uninterrupted power supply to the fair area.
Electricity system of parking and parade area
33 KV lines of the parking area and parade area have been buried underground, which will prevent any power-related accident during the fair. Designer poles are being installed in the parade area, which will ensure lighting along with beauty in the area.
Undergrounding of obstructing lines at railway stations and RUBs
The power lines in front of Prayagraj Junction and Prayag Station have also been undergrounded. This will not cause any obstruction to the movement of devotees during the fair and a safe route can be maintained in front of the railway stations.
