Raebareli: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raebareli, has introduced a dedicated bronchoscopy facility, enabling patients to access the important diagnostic procedure within the institute instead of travelling elsewhere for the service.
The facility was formally inaugurated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday by Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Amita Jain, who launched the service by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Bronchoscopy services will be available at AIIMS Raebareli every Tuesday and Thursday.
The inauguration was attended by Additional Medical Superintendent Dr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Kumar Dharmendra, Emergency Faculty In-charge Dr. Pranabh Kushwaha, and pulmonology specialists Dr. Krishna Priya and Dr. Sumit Kumar Jain. Doctors, nursing personnel and staff members from various departments were also present.
Bronchoscopy is an important medical procedure used to examine the respiratory tract and lungs. It can help doctors investigate a range of respiratory conditions and, when required, assist in carrying out certain treatments and obtaining samples for further diagnosis.
The availability of the service at AIIMS Raebareli is expected to make advanced respiratory investigations more accessible and reduce the need for patients to seek the procedure at other healthcare centres. It will also support more timely evaluation and management of patients with suspected lung and airway disorders.
The institute has been working to expand access to modern and high-quality healthcare services for patients. The introduction of bronchoscopy marks another step towards strengthening specialised medical care and improving the availability of diagnostic facilities at AIIMS Raebareli.
