‘PDA Is Just a Slogan, Ground Reality Is Zero’: Pankaj Chaudhary Hits Out at Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow: Pankaj Chaudhary launched a strong political attack on Akhilesh Yadav, dismissing the Samajwadi Party’s much-publicised “PDA” formula as nothing more than a political slogan without real impact on the ground.

The BJP leader and Union Minister of State for Finance accused the Samajwadi Party of attempting to divert attention from repeated electoral defeats by questioning democratic institutions and promoting what he described as divisive caste-based politics.

Reacting to allegations made by Akhilesh Yadav regarding the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Chaudhary termed the claims “baseless, misleading and politically motivated.” He said the Samajwadi Party was trying to hide its failures by repeatedly casting doubts on the fairness of democratic systems.

Defending India’s electoral framework, Pankaj Chaudhary said the country’s democracy remains among the strongest and most transparent in the world. He added that raising questions against institutions such as the Election Commission, central forces and the judiciary without evidence weakens public faith in democracy.

The BJP state president argued that if Akhilesh Yadav genuinely possessed proof supporting his allegations, he should have presented it before the courts or the Election Commission instead of repeatedly making public accusations.

Turning his attention to the Samajwadi Party’s “PDA” strategy — representing backward classes, Dalits and minorities — Chaudhary said the concept existed only as a political catchphrase and had failed to connect with voters at the grassroots level.

According to him, the people of Uttar Pradesh have moved beyond identity-based politics and are now prioritising development, security, governance and infrastructure. He claimed that this shift in voter mindset was reflected in the support received by the BJP under the leadership of Narendra Modi during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Chaudhary also revisited the Samajwadi Party’s tenure in Uttar Pradesh, alleging that the period was marked by lawlessness, corruption and appeasement politics. He claimed that women’s safety had become a serious concern during the previous SP government and said ordinary citizens were forced to live in an atmosphere of fear.

In contrast, he asserted that the BJP government had significantly improved law and order in the state while accelerating development projects across multiple sectors.

Rejecting accusations regarding the alleged misuse of central agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate, Chaudhary maintained that these institutions function strictly within the framework of law. He alleged that individuals facing corruption allegations often attack investigative agencies to shield themselves politically.

The BJP leader further said the party remains committed to a “zero tolerance” policy toward corruption and urged the Samajwadi Party to move away from what he described as “negative and misleading politics.”

Concluding his remarks, Pankaj Chaudhary expressed confidence that the BJP would secure a decisive mandate once again in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, claiming that voters in the state continue to support the party’s governance model and development agenda.
