New Delhi’s Bela Theatre stages play “Babu Viranchi Lal”

Bareilly: On the fourth day of SRMS Riddhima’s fourth theatre festival Rang Mahotsav Indradhanush 2024,  New Delhi’s Bela Theatre  staged the play “Babu Viranchi Lal”. Written by Dr. Chaturbhuj and directed by Amar Shah, this play, which focuses on corruption, attacks the system and expresses the ups and downs of Babu Viranchi Lal’s life in a humorous way.

The play begins with a sweet and sour banter between husband and wife. The main role, i.e. the character of Viranchi, was played by Hrithik and his wife’s character was played by Pallavi Mishra. Viranchi’s friend arrives, who was once a corrupt officer and is now suffering from the same corruption after retirement.

He has a habit of reading out his thoughts loudly. This creates humorous situations and the audience is forced to laugh. The role of the friend was played by Aditya Lamba. Viranchi has two sons, who have left no stone unturned in being ungrateful. One wants to become a leader and the other an actor. The antics of both of them keep the audience amused. In the play, the role of the elder son Panchu was played by Alankrit and the role of the younger son Anokha was played by Sahil.

Viranchi dies in an accident and reaches Yamlok. Meanwhile, Khairaati comes to his house who entertains the people with his songs. This role was played by Shivam. The fun begins when Viranchi returns alive from Yamlok. The play delighted the audience in every small and big aspect and the audience was forced to clap.

Before the play started, General Manager of Dainik Jagran Bareilly and Moradabad Unit Dr. Mudit Chaturvedi, Founder and Chairman of SRMS Trust Dev Murthy, Secretary Aditya Murthy lit the lamp. On this occasion, Asha Murthy, Richa Murthy, Usha Gupta, Subhash Mehra, Dr. Prabhakar Gupta, Dr. Anuj Kumar, Dr. Rita Sharma and other dignitaries were present.
