Gonda: Saraswati Devi Nari Gyansthali PG College, Gonda, organised a welcome ceremony for newly admitted students of BA and BCom programmes for the academic session 2026-27. The event aimed to familiarise new students with the college environment, academic facilities and various opportunities available for their overall development.
The programme began with a welcome song presented by students under the guidance of Music Department faculty members Kiran Pandey and Jaya Tripathi.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr Aarti Srivastava welcomed the new students into the Gyansthali family and provided detailed information about the college, its academic environment and educational facilities.
Following this, Head of the English Department Dr Harpreet Kaur introduced students to the various subjects offered by the college as well as six vocational courses currently available. She encouraged the students to participate actively and advised them to feel comfortable in the college environment without hesitation or fear.
College Administrator Dr Anandita Rajat informed the students that a one-week induction programme would begin from the following day. The programme will include an introduction to the college, courses offered, faculty members and opportunities for interaction among new students. She also highlighted special classes focused on spoken English and personality development to enhance students’ confidence and skills.
Newly admitted student Shreya Mishra presented a melodious welcome song that captivated the audience. RJ Adnan, RJ Unnati, RJ Anshika and RJ Ayushi conducted various interactive activities to help students overcome hesitation and actively participate in the programme. Students enthusiastically took part in the activities.

During the programme, students were introduced to various facilities of the college, including the computer room, digital library, Home Science and Psychology departments, Sarvadharm Sthal and the studio of Radio Gyansthali 89.6 FM.
The programme was conducted by Samta Dhamkani and concluded with the singing of the Gyansthali anthem. After the formal closing, members of the student council — Shraddha, Alfia, Purnima Shukla, Sahiba, Divyanka and Maria — guided the newly admitted students on a tour of the college campus.
Several faculty members and staff were present during the event, including Dr Seema Srivastava, Dr Mousumi Singh, Dr Amita Srivastava, Geeta Srivastava, Dr Ashu Tripathi, Dr Rashmi Dwivedi, Dr Sadhna Gupta, Kanchanlata Pandey, Sunita Mishra, Sunita Pandey, Anu Upadhyay, Dr D. Kumar, Sushma Singh, Himanshi Mishra, Tabrez Mansoori, Monika Srivastava, Rajesh Mishra, Suvendu Verma, Manvendra Srivastava and RJ Adnan, among others.
The orientation programme marked the beginning of a new academic journey for students and focused on creating a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for their future growth.
