Lucknow | In a prompt and preventive action aimed at maintaining peace and public order in the jurisdiction, Mahigawan Police took action against two individuals involved in creating disturbance and sent them to the Hon’ble Court under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
According to police reports, on June 10, 2026, Sub-Inspector Jagmohan Dubey had called both parties involved in an ongoing dispute related to an already registered case for inquiry at the police station. The complainant Dilip Kumar, son of Molehe, and the opposite party Ranjeet Kumar, son of late Narayan, both residents of Village Sonwa under Mahigawan police station area, Lucknow, were present at the station premises.
During the proceedings, both parties allegedly engaged in a heated argument outside the police station gate regarding the ongoing dispute. Despite repeated efforts by police personnel to pacify them, both individuals reportedly became increasingly aggressive and were on the verge of engaging in a physical confrontation, posing a potential threat to public peace.
Observing the escalating tension and to prevent the occurrence of any cognizable offence, police took both individuals into preventive custody at around 10:45 AM. Officials stated that the action was necessary to ensure that law and order was not disturbed in the area.

The police further confirmed that the action was taken strictly in accordance with directives of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and guidelines of the Human Rights Commission during the preventive detention process.
Subsequently, both individuals were proceeded against under Sections 170/126/135 of BNSS and were sent before the Hon’ble Court for further legal proceedings.
