Lucknow: Wazirganj police have arrested a 37-year-old man wanted in connection with an alleged property fraud case involving forged documents and a fake person being presented for the execution of a sale deed.
The accused has been identified as Aditya Kumar Verma alias Sonu, a resident of Malhpur under Thakurganj police station in Lucknow.

According to police, the case was registered at Wazirganj police station on October 27, 2024, following a written complaint by Poonam, who alleged that the accused and others had fraudulently executed a sale deed for her agricultural land. The complaint alleged that a fake person was presented and forged documents were prepared and used to complete the transaction.
A case was registered under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code against several named accused.
During the investigation, the allegations against the accused were found to be substantiated and Aditya Kumar Verma alias Sonu was identified as one of those allegedly involved in the fraud.
Police said another accused in the case, 60-year-old Devidayal, a resident of Saidapur Madwana in Lucknow, had already been arrested on August 4, 2026, and sent to judicial custody.

Acting on information provided by a confidential informant, police arrested Aditya Kumar Verma alias Sonu from Sector-L in Ashiyana area at around 8.30 pm on August 16.
According to investigators, the accused allegedly worked with his associates to fraudulently execute the sale deed of the complainant’s agricultural land by arranging for a fake person to appear and using forged documents.
Further legal proceedings are underway, while police are also gathering information about the accused’s criminal history.
The arrest was carried out by a Wazirganj police team led by Inspector Rajesh Kumar Tripathi, along with Sub-Inspectors Vinod Kumar Singh, Pradyuman Kumar Singh and Pradeep Nagar, and Constable Vijay Pal.
