Gonda: On the instructions of Prof. Jitendra Singh, officiating Principal of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College, and under the guidance of Prof. Sanjay Pandey, in-charge of the admissions committee, a “Deeksharambh” orientation programme was organised to welcome and guide newly admitted students. The programme covered students from the Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Chemistry, BBA and BCA departments, as well as the Faculty of Agriculture. The idea behind the event was to familiarise incoming students with the college’s academic setup, its various departments, and the subjects on offer.
Heads of all the departments — Prof. Sanjay Pandey, Prof. Arvind Kumar Sharma, Dr. Rekha Sharma, Dr. Santosh Srivastava, Dr. Pushyamitra Mishra, Dr. Shailja Singh, Dr. Abhay Dwivedi, and Dr. Ghanshyam Dwivedi — along with faculty members from every department, welcomed the students at the event. They walked the students through the value of their respective subjects, the opportunities available for higher studies and employment, and the college’s broader academic activities. Students were also introduced to the college’s discipline system, academic environment, laboratories, library, and other facilities, and were encouraged to stay actively involved in regular studies, research, and co-curricular activities.
The newly admitted students described the programme as highly informative and inspiring, and expressed their gratitude to the college for organising it.
