Mumbai: A new cinematic venture blending mythology, emotion and futuristic storytelling has stepped into the spotlight with the unveiling of the first look of MANIKANDAN: THE LAST AVATAR by Papparazzi Entertainment Company.
The first-look launch took place on May 3, 2026, at the historic Vennala Thykkatt Sri Mahadeva Temple, drawing enthusiastic responses from audiences and attendees from the film and political circles. The event marked the beginning of what the makers describe as an ambitious cinematic experience designed for global audiences.
Set in a futuristic world dominated by logic and machine-driven systems, the film follows Manikandan, a mysterious figure raised alongside seven warriors within the disciplined environment of a gurukul under the guidance of an enigmatic Guru. In a society where emotion and faith have gradually disappeared, Manikandan emerges as a force that technology cannot fully comprehend or control.
Rooted in Indian philosophical thought while exploring themes of artificial intelligence, identity and consciousness, the film attempts to examine the balance between technological progress and human emotion. The narrative poses a larger question about whether humanity is truly evolving or slowly losing its essence in an increasingly mechanized world.
One of the project’s most distinctive aspects is its integration of artificial intelligence into multiple stages of filmmaking, including scripting, visual design and post-production. Despite its technological foundation, the makers say the film remains deeply centered on human emotions and spiritual depth.

The film also promises large-scale action inspired by traditional Indian martial philosophies, combined with a soundscape that merges meditative tones with futuristic intensity. The creators aim to deliver a cinematic style that feels both culturally rooted and globally accessible.
Speaking about the response to the unveiling, Ajinkya Jadhav of Papparazzi Entertainment Company said the overwhelming reception to the first look signals the beginning of a much larger journey for the film.
Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 29, 2026, MANIKANDAN: THE LAST AVATAR will release in five languages, targeting audiences across international markets.
With its blend of mythology, science fiction and emotional storytelling, the film is positioning itself as an ambitious entry in India’s evolving cinematic landscape.
