Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a significant announcement regarding sanitation and healthcare workers associated with the Maha Kumbh. He declared a bonus of ₹10,000 for sanitation workers and a health insurance cover of ₹5 lakh for healthcare personnel.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further stated that the government is ensuring a minimum wage of ₹16,000 for sanitation workers engaged in the Maha Kumbh, which will come into effect from April. Additionally, wages for temporary healthcare workers will be transferred directly to their bank accounts. All workers will be linked to the Ayushman Bharat scheme, ensuring better healthcare security.
CM Yogi Leads Cleanliness Drive
Following the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh, CM Yogi Adityanath actively participated in a cleanliness drive at the Sangam Ghat. He personally wielded a broom and joined sanitation workers in the cleaning effort. The Chief Minister also shared a meal with the workers as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication. Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present during the event.
66 Crore Devotees Take a Holy Dip
The Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, which commenced on January 13 (Paush Purnima) and concluded on February 26 (Maha Shivaratri), witnessed an unprecedented 66.21 crore devotees taking a holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam.
