Lucknow: Amity University Lucknow Campus on Monday began its two-day Orientation-2026 programme for the new academic session 2026-27, with around 2000 newly admitted students and their parents participating in the event.
The orientation programme aims to familiarise students and parents with the university’s academic system, departments, teaching methodology, campus facilities, mentoring framework and various opportunities for academic and overall development.
The programme commenced with a traditional Vedic havan and pooja, conducted amid Vedic chants. Amity University Lucknow Campus Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, heads of various departments and newly admitted students offered prayers and oblations for the successful academic session and the bright future of the students. The freshers were also welcomed with a ceremonial shower of flowers. During the orientation, students and parents visited different parts of the campus and interacted with faculty members to understand the academic environment, programmes, teaching methodologies and facilities available to students.
A series of ice-breaking sessions were also organised for the freshers to help them adapt to the new environment of higher education and become familiar with university life. Students were introduced to their programme leaders, faculty mentors and course faculty, while sessions on academic planning and the ‘Know Your Mentor’ initiative provided an opportunity for mentor-mentee interaction.
Addressing the students and parents, Prof. (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus, welcomed the new students and encouraged them to make the most of the academic, research, innovation, skill-development and personality-development opportunities available at Amity.
He said that under the visionary leadership of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group, and Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chairman, Amity University Lucknow, has emerged as a global education group with a strong focus on providing world-class education. He wished the newly admitted students success in their academic journey and a bright future.
Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, also addressed the students online. She said that Amity is a global university that places strong emphasis on the holistic development of its students. She added that under the leadership of Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Amity continues to contribute towards the national vision of making India a global superpower by 2030 and a developed nation by 2047 through quality education.
The orientation programme also featured interactions between students and senior university officials, faculty members and department heads. Wing Commander (Retd) Dr. Anil Tiwari, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor] Amity Lucknow; Dr. Rajeev Verma, Dean–Student Welfare; Prof. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Dean–Academics, along with heads of various departments and faculty members, interacted with the new students and provided information on academic processes, university facilities and student support systems.
The two-day programme will provide the new students with an opportunity to understand the academic and campus environment, interact with their mentors and faculty members, and begin their university journey with greater confidence and clarity.
