Community First: Viram Khand-5 Residents Embrace Wellness at International Yoga Day Camp

LUCKNOW: The lush green expanses of Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Park transformed into a vibrant hub of health and tranquility today as the Viram Khand-5 Jan Kalyan Samiti hosted a highly successful Yoga Camp to mark the International Day of Yoga. Local residents, ranging from enthusiastic youth to active senior citizens, gathered in large numbers to embrace a morning dedicated to holistic well-being.

The instructional camp was spearheaded by the Samiti’s President, Dr. Bharat Raj Singh, who personally guided the participants through a comprehensive series of traditional yoga postures (asanas) and deep-breathing exercises (pranayama). Beyond just demonstrating the movements, Dr. Singh offered a deep dive into the physiological and mental mechanics behind each practice, explaining how targeted routines can actively combat modern ailments.

A Shield Against Modern Stress

Addressing the gathered community, Dr. Singh emphasized that yoga is an accessible, time-tested tool for self-care in an increasingly fast-paced world. He pointed out that making the practice a daily habit rather than a sporadic activity holds the key to long-term vitality.

“Regular yoga practice does far more than improve physical flexibility,” Dr. Singh noted during the session. “It serves as a powerful shield that enhances our natural immunity, offers deep relief from daily psychological stress, and helps prevent or manage a wide array of chronic, lifestyle-related disorders. To build a truly balanced life, we must make yoga an inseparable part of our daily routine.”

Uniting the Neighborhood

The event was defined by a strong sense of discipline and mutual encouragement, largely driven by the active participation of the Samiti’s core leadership team. Ensuring the smooth flow of the morning’s activities were Vice President Vijay Chopra, Joint Secretary Praveen Kumar Mishra, Publicity Secretary Manoj Sharma, Organization Secretary Prabhat Srivastava, and Secretary Nityanand Pandey.

The executive committee was out in full force as well, with members Ram Pratap Sharma, S. B. L. Mehrotra, R. K. Tiwari, Anand Prakash, and Rajendra Tiwari working alongside colony volunteers to accommodate the large turnout of neighborhood families.

The morning wrapped up on an inspiring note. Before dispersing, the entire gathering stood together to take a collective pledge, vowing to foster a deeply health-conscious, aware, and yoga-oriented local community that prioritizes long-term well-being for all its members.
