Bareilly: The digital sugarcane survey for the upcoming 2026–27 crushing season has commenced across the Bareilly region from May 1, Deputy Cane Commissioner Rajesh Mishra announced.
According to officials, the new survey policy mandates that farmers must submit their crop details online through the SGK Portal. The declared sugarcane area will be recorded digitally, and farmers are required to fill out their declaration forms within the stipulated time. Failure to do so may lead to cancellation of their sugarcane supply quota for the 2026–27 season.
The initiative is being carried out under the Smart Ganna Kisan Project, aimed at ensuring accurate crop assessment, enhancing transparency, and resolving farmers’ issues more efficiently. The survey is being conducted using GPS-based technology.
Officials stated that survey teams have been formed and trained, and prior information regarding survey schedules—including the date of visit, name of the team in-charge, and contact details—will be shared with farmers via SMS three days in advance.
The survey will be conducted by joint teams comprising government cane supervisors, sugar mill personnel, and the concerned farmers. Each circle will have a designated in-charge, and farmers are required to be present in their fields during the survey to avoid discrepancies.

Authorities further informed that all sugar mills in the Bareilly region have initiated the survey process, which is scheduled to be completed by June 30. After completion, data will be compiled in a computerized survey register, with final validation carried out through joint signatures of officials, including sugar mill representatives and departmental supervisors.
Farmers have been urged to actively participate in the process and ensure accurate reporting to prevent errors in assessment.
