Davos: Global beauty major L’Oréal has announced the launch of its first-ever Global Tech Hub in Hyderabad, marking a major milestone in the integration of beauty and advanced technology. The announcement was made at the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos following a high-level meeting between L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus and senior representatives of the Telangana government.
The proposed facility will be the world’s first dedicated “Beauty Tech Hub,” combining artificial intelligence, data engineering and digital innovation to transform beauty products and services. The project will see an investment of over ₹3,500 crore (€350 million) by 2030 and is expected to generate around 2,000 high-value jobs in technology and data engineering, including roles for AI specialists, engineers and data scientists.

The partnership between L’Oréal and the Telangana government is being positioned as a flagship initiative under the “2026 India–France Year of Innovation.” Beyond infrastructure development, the collaboration aims to nurture Indian talent in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, generative AI and agentic AI, enabling professionals to create global beauty-tech solutions while working from India.
The Hyderabad Tech Hub will become an integral part of L’Oréal’s global technology ecosystem, collaborating closely with the company’s tech centers in France, the United States, China and Singapore. The hub will focus on accelerating AI-driven beauty innovations and delivering next-generation digital solutions at scale.
Welcoming the announcement, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the decision reflects global confidence in the state’s innovation ecosystem and skilled workforce. He noted that the project aligns closely with the state’s “Telangana Rising: Vision 2047” and will help position Telangana as a global center of excellence in AI and digital technologies.

L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus said the company’s three-decade-long association with India is entering a new phase with this initiative. He described Hyderabad as the future nerve center of L’Oréal’s AI and digital ambitions, reinforcing the company’s belief that the future of beauty lies at the intersection of science, technology and creativity.
Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu termed the investment a strong endorsement of the state’s innovation capabilities, while Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar highlighted its synergy with the upcoming Telangana AI Hub initiative.
With this announcement, L’Oréal has reaffirmed India’s central role in its global transformation strategy, positioning Hyderabad at the forefront of the world’s beauty-tech revolution.
