Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) honoured its best-performing employees for December 2025 with the ‘Employee of the Month’ award at its administrative headquarters in Gomti Nagar. The awards were presented by Managing Director Sushil Kumar, who lauded the employees for their dedication, integrity and professionalism.
For the month of December, woman security guard Reena Dwivedi was specially honoured for her exemplary honesty in safely returning a passenger’s lost purse. The incident occurred on December 18, 2025, at around 10:30 am at CCS Airport Metro Station, where a woman passenger accidentally left her purse on the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) machine during the security check. Noticing the unattended purse, Reena immediately deposited it at the station control room. The purse contained ₹15,255 in cash, two credit cards, one debit card and other important documents, all of which were later safely returned to the passenger.

In addition, Saurabh Srivastava (Junior Engineer, P-Way) was also conferred the ‘Employee of the Month’ award for December in recognition of his expertise in track and turnout maintenance, which has played a crucial role in maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Kushal (TOM Operator, Agra Metro) was also honoured for his commendable performance.

Speaking on the occasion, UPMRC MD Sushil Kumar said that the honesty and commitment of the Lucknow Metro’s Lost and Found Cell has consistently earned the trust of passengers. He informed that so far, the Metro has returned over ₹47.50 lakh in cash, around 250 laptops and nearly 890 mobile phones, along with several other valuable items to passengers.
He further stated that Lucknow Metro continues to stand out as one of the safest, most comfortable and passenger-friendly public transport systems, setting benchmarks in service quality and civic responsibility
