Noida: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the newly built Medanta Super Speciality Hospital in Noida, calling it a “centre of excellence for quality health services” and a major boost to the medical infrastructure of western Uttar Pradesh. He praised Medanta as not just a hospital but a hub of employment, investment and advanced healthcare, all under one roof.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the rapid progress made by Uttar Pradesh in the healthcare sector. He said that schemes like Ayushman Bharat and the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana have enabled crores of people to access free, quality treatment. “Today, even the poorest citizen in Uttar Pradesh is entitled to world-class healthcare,” he said.
₹1,300 Crore Distributed in One Year Through CM Relief Fund
CM Yogi revealed that the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has become a crucial lifeline for the underprivileged. “In just one year, ₹1,300 crore has been provided for medical treatment through the CM Relief Fund,” he said. The assistance was transferred directly to empanelled hospitals across the state to ensure timely treatment for needy patients.
UP’s Medical Landscape Transforming
Reflecting on the past, the Chief Minister said that 8–10 years ago, life-threatening ailments like kidney disease, cancer and cardiac issues were beyond the reach of poor families. Many had to sell land or jewellery to afford treatment. “Those days are over. The double-engine government under PM Modi has guaranteed affordable healthcare to every citizen,” he remarked.
He added that Uttar Pradesh has progressed from a state once known for “one district, one mafia” to now developing under the vision of “one district, one medical college.” Policy reforms, including allowing hospitals on 7-metre-wide roads, have accelerated private investment in health facilities.
Technology-Driven Healthcare
CM Yogi emphasized the use of technology in expanding medical access. Virtual ICUs, teleconsultation services and collaborations like the MedTech Centre of Excellence with IIT Kanpur are helping extend advanced care to remote regions.

Medanta’s Growing Role
The Chief Minister praised Medanta’s contribution in Lucknow during the Covid-19 crisis and said the Noida centre will play a vital role in meeting western UP’s healthcare needs. He urged Medanta Group to consider opening new centres in Gorakhpur and Varanasi, noting that millions in eastern UP, northwest Bihar and Nepal depend on these regions for treatment.
A Human Touch to Healthcare
Sharing a personal anecdote about his 96-year-old guru’s treatment at Medanta Gurugram, CM Yogi said, “A patient places immense trust in a doctor. When a doctor says you are healthy, even the elderly can gather strength to walk again.”
Eradication of Encephalitis: A Milestone
CM Yogi also recalled the decades-long encephalitis crisis in eastern UP, which claimed over 50,000 lives in 40 years. Under his leadership, a coordinated campaign finally brought the disease under control within two years. “Today, there are no deaths from encephalitis in the region,” he said.
Dignitaries Present
Medanta Chairman & MD Dr. Naresh Trehan, Noida’s Minister-in-Charge Brijesh Singh, MLA Pankaj Singh, and Medanta CEO Pankaj Sahni were among those present at the inauguration.
With the inauguration of Medanta Noida and strong government support, Uttar Pradesh is steadily shaping itself into a hub of advanced and accessible healthcare.
