Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS), Lucknow, successfully concluded its weekly training session, reaffirming its growing stature as a premier institution in the field of forensic science. The closing ceremony was graced by DCP South, Nipun Aggarwal, IPS, who attended as the chief guest. He was welcomed and felicitated with a memento and angavastram by Additional Director Rajeev Malhotra.
In his address, DCP Nipun Aggarwal praised the institute’s transformative role in strengthening forensic science across Uttar Pradesh. He said UPSIFS has not only established itself as a leader within the state but is also rapidly gaining recognition on national and international platforms due to its commitment to excellence and high-quality training standards.
He noted that UPSIFS is now on par with other renowned forensic institutions in the country. “Establishing institutions of such scale and credibility is a challenging task. The state-of-the-art technology, world-class equipment, and advanced training available here play a crucial role in advancing the field of forensic science,” he said. Aggarwal also appreciated the institute’s global-standard forensic infrastructure, calling it a key asset for future policing and scientific investigation.
During the ceremony, Additional Director Rajeev Malhotra expressed gratitude to all participants and highlighted the diversity of the training batch. A total of 40 police officers, ranging from Sub-Inspectors to Deputy Superintendents of Police, attended the session from various states including Delhi, Kerala, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha.
The intensive training program was conducted by experts from UPSIFS, I4C, and other distinguished law enforcement specialists, focusing on emerging forensic techniques, crime investigation tools, and scientific accuracy in policing.

The event was anchored by PRO Santosh Tiwari, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the session.
Among those present were Additional SP Chiranjeeb Mukherjee, AR C.M. Singh, Vivek Kumar, PRO Santosh Tiwari, Girijesh Rai, Dr. Palak Aneja, Dr. Manish Rai, RI Brijesh Singh, Shailendra Singh, Kartikeya, along with members of the academic faculty of the institute.
The session concluded with a renewed pledge to strengthen forensic capabilities across India, positioning UPSIFS as a vital institution in modern scientific policing.
