Major Gathering of Transport Industry Leaders Highlights Growth, Digital Transformation, and Future Opportunities

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Transport, Dayashankar Singh, inaugurated the “Pravas 5 Curtain Raiser” programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp at Hotel Ornate in Lucknow. The event brought together prominent stakeholders from the transport industry, including bus and car operators, business leaders, and policymakers from across the country.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Satish Gautam and Rajeev Gumber, among other distinguished guests.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Dayashankar Singh praised the organizers for successfully creating a common platform for bus and car owners. He said such initiatives strengthen industry collaboration and contribute significantly to the development of the transport sector.

“The transport industry is a vital component of Uttar Pradesh’s economy, and the government remains committed to supporting its growth,” he said.

Highlighting the state’s infrastructure achievements, the minister noted that Uttar Pradesh has developed the highest number of expressways in the country. These projects, he said, have been planned keeping the needs and convenience of transport operators in mind, thereby improving connectivity and boosting economic activity.

He also acknowledged the contribution of transporters from across India to the successful organization of the recent Mahakumbh, describing their role as invaluable in ensuring smooth movement and logistics during the mega event.

Digital Transformation Benefiting Transporters

The minister informed participants that most services of the Transport Department have now been digitized, enabling transporters across Uttar Pradesh and the country to access services more efficiently.

Services such as challan settlement, vehicle registration certificates (RC), insurance-related procedures, and other transport-related facilities are now available online, enhancing transparency, reducing paperwork, and improving ease of access for citizens and industry stakeholders alike.

“Transporters and the Transport Department are like two wheels of the same vehicle. Only through cooperation and coordination can we build a stronger transport ecosystem and accelerate Uttar Pradesh’s overall development,” he remarked.

Industry Leaders Discuss Challenges and Opportunities

The event was organized jointly by ABCOF and BOCI Uttar Pradesh and witnessed participation from leading representatives of the transport and mobility sector from across India.

BOCI President Prasanna Patwardhan highlighted the achievements of the organization and its efforts to strengthen the industry.
